The health and safety of our WiseUp members and volunteers is a top priority. We have been monitoring the evolving status of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and have sought guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health, city leaders, other Villages, and community organizations.
The WiseUp Board of Directors approved the cancellation all in-person programs and meetings, effective immediately. We have revised the format of some of our programs to offer them virtually. We anticipate this policy will remain in effect for the foreseeable future, as we abide by the mandate of the State of Illinois to stay at home and practice social distancing.
Following the lead of other Villages in the country, WiseUp’s volunteer services will be adjusted to essential shopping, grocery and prescription pickup/delivery only. All non-essential services will be curtailed until late April, pending guidance from IDPH. Remember, if you experience a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this ever-changing situation.
